Golden Milk

Golden milk contains antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds and may offer health benefits. These can include protection against certain diseases.

This bright yellow beverage is traditionally made by warming up cow’s or plant-based milk with turmeric and other spices, such as cinnamon and ginger.

It’s often used as an alternative remedy to boost immunity and stave off illness, in addition to its other health benefits such as:

  1. Improving sleep

  2. Aids in digestion

  3. Lowers inflammation

  4. Increases calmness & relaxation

  5. Increases metabolic function


Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk (dairy or dairy-free)

  • 1 tsp ground turmeric

  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon

  • pinch black pepper

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey (manuka honey is the best to help boost immunity and lower inflammation)

  • Optional: ½ tbsp coconut oil (helps reduce hunger, encourages fat burning, and also is an excellent antioxidant) or spices such as ginger, cardamom, or vanilla extract.


  1. Add all ingredients to a saucepan over medium heat and bring to a simmer.

  2. Simmer for 10 minutes to let the flavors meld.

  3. Pour the golden milk into a cup and enjoy.
